Petoskey Montessori Children's House and Elementary School

An accredited Montessori School, established in 1973

To Educate the Human Potential. . . . We believe each child to be uniquely gifted, possessing a special potential.  Our charge is to educate the human potential by aiding the child's own inborn drive to develop him/herself.

  Our Mission . . . .
Petoskey Montessori Children's House and and Elementary School (PMCH/PMES) is committed to the learning philosophy founded by Maria Montessori.  Our aim is to provide thoughtful guidance in a carefully prepared environment so that our children may develop concentration, a sense of order, sociability, self-discipline, and a love of work.  The Montessori environment serves as an aid to the development of our children as happy, independent, responsible, and loving individuals.

PMCH/PMES welcomes students of any race, gender, religion, national or ethnic origin.

About PMCH/PMES

PMCH/PMES is an Association MontessoriInternationale (AMI) accredited, not-for-profit organization providing IC/Nido, preschool and extended day as well as an elementary classroom that is considered part of the Petoskey Public Schools.  We pride ourselves on being the only Montessori school in Michigan that is fully recognized by AMI.

We welcome visitors interested in enrolling their children in the school.  Observations and the opportunity to meet with the classroom Guides can easily be arranged.  Please call (231) 347-5331.

There is ... in every child a painstaking teacher, so skillful that he obtains identical results in all children in all parts of the world. The only language men ever speak perfectly is the one they learn in babyhood, when no one can teach them anything!"          Dr. Maria Montessori
